bullet racing, train smashing, building hurdling, son-of-Kal-El – Superman! For ages now, it seems like our silver screens have been full of capes, alter egos and special powers, as one after another, comic characters leap out of their pages and onto celluloid (or whatever digital is made of. I don’t know, souls and stuff) so you might be forgiven for thinking do we really need another one? But the answer is yes. Yes we do - Superman is the undisputed champion of them all! Firstly, he is, as his name would suggest, the original superhero. Te Mac Daddy of caped crusaders has been on our screens since the 1950s, and unless I missed a meeting, no one has got anywhere near bored of him yet. OK, so the last film wasn’t great, but you can’t win them all

s it a bird, is it a plane..? No, it’s yet another superhero movie, as this month sees the return of the
and time and time again the pant- showing caped crusader has been re- booted (Te New Adventures of Superman), re-generated (Smallville) and re-turned to our screens only to find a horde of adoring fans. Secondly – he’s fucking Superman!! He could cut Batman in half with his eyeballs, put Iron Man in an Iron Lung and hammer Wolverine into the ground like a nail, using only his cock! Make no mistake, he might not be from round here, but by God he was brought up in the US of A, and as such it only takes General Zod to threaten Earth before Supey puts foot-to-ass for truth, justice and the biggest box-office takings of the year. Will it be good? Hell yeah – Nolan’s involved, Snyder’s filming it, Cavill and Shannon can act, the effects look amazing… Go and see it in full IMAX glory; it’s definitely got the Krypton Factor (sorry) Smiley
To win yourself either a private viewing of Man of Steel with ten of your nearest and dearest (viewing time at the discretion of Odeon Cinemas), or ten film tickets, or even four gallery tickets, tell us who played Superman in the New Adventures of Superman…
a. Dean Cain b. Dean Able c. Dean Martin
