VICTORIA: a large number of men, women, children and local representatives came together under a sizeable and colorful canopy for a service to honor and praise our lord and savior. the people were warm and welcoming. at that time, we were able to dedicate the cor- nerstone of the first church building that WMe will construct in this once totally unreached area. and WMe supplied each of the eight missionaries with a bicycle to help them travel the dirt roads around the village and make them that much more effective in their efforts to touch the local people. god is good!!

ACE: What a wonderful testimony of what god can do! victoria, what do you personal- ly take away from these visits to hilgi?

VICTORIA: hilgi is such a precious reminder of what god can do in such a short time when we open ourselves up and receive his message of love, salvation, grace, peace and redemption. the testimo- ny of these villagers brings to mind the words of Jesus and the reality of just how true those words are:

“Come unto me, all ye that labor and are

heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” –Matthew 11:28-30

he welcomes all of us, whatever our back- ground or state may be. he looks beyond our circumstances to see the heart of each man, woman and child and gives rest to every soul that seeks his face and calls upon his name. and of course, knowing him changes every- thing.
