Perspectives of Dartmouth & its Coastline

‘Smile’ - you’re in Baxters!


wner of Baxters, Sarah Duggan writes, “I always like to have uplifting work in the gallery but this exhibi- tion ‘Smile’ will hopefully make you feel good and put a smile on your face. Buy a bit of happiness or just come in and soak up the atmosphere. There are 3 painters in the show:- Janet Bell has her own gallery in North Wales now and has painted that area for the last few years. We are thrilled to have a new collection of beautifully coloured Devon views for the show. Penny Timmis has become a gallery favourite over the last few years with her free-flowing cockerel paintings. We will have a selection of these plus some wonderful and colourful floral pieces. Mary Sumner (see interview on next page) is a well known

Devon artist and is showing here for the first time. Her work captures the English countryside with fresh fluidity and intensely beautiful colours. Gardens, birds, farming, landscape and wildlife are all recurring themes. Other work includeds fused glass pictures by Jane Reeves,
