As for modern designers, probably Phillipe Starrk for Starck 1 which is a real game-changer in the bathroom industry. Mark Wilkinson is inspirational too for what he has done for kitchen design.


DESIGNER K&B: What has been your own favourite product so far? CUTCHIE: It has to be the BC Sanitan Victorian Suite. It was the first complete traditional suite which really started the whole trend around 1980. We had no idea it would grab the imagination of so many people.


We worked very hard on it in very positive times. With the support of fellow Director Geoffrey Stevenson (with whom I later co-founded Imperial Bathroom Company in 1988) everything fell into place very nicely. It was my first involvement in a ‘proper’ business. We also had a lot of fun doing it.
