The Rules

✔ Eat as much as you need, of the allowed foods; you should not feel hungry.

✔ Allowed foods are any unprocessed meat (beef, pork, lamb, chicken, turkey etc), fresh or tinned fish, eggs, salads, vegetables (not potatoes or mushrooms), Natural Live (Bio) Yoghurt. The only food limited in quantity is the ‘safe grain’ - brown rice/quinoa/porridge oats - which has a daily allowance of 50g (dry weight).

✔ Drink as much water as you like, as well as herbal/fruit teas, decaffeinated tea and coffee (no milk or sugar).

The most interesting factoid is that the main common cause of these three conditions is dieting! By this we mean calorie controlled dieting – not what you’re about to try. When we count calories we eat less than we need and weaken the immune system (this can lay the groundwork for all three conditions). We eat more carbohydrates (fruit, cereal, bread, cereal bars etc) because they are lower in calories than foods containing natural fats, like meat, fish and eggs, and this encourages Candida and Hypoglycaemia. We also tend to eat the same things every day, having worked out the ‘biggest bang for the buck’ – the most food we can eat for the fewest calories. This causes Food Intolerance.

If you have ever dieted, ever eaten less than you need, ever eaten the same things every day for a period of time, ever favoured fruit over

meat, your chances of having one, or all, of these conditions is high. The Harcombe Diet®

is the perfect diet to over-

come Candida, Food Intolerance and Hypoglycaemia. Phase 1 of the diet only needs to be 5-7 days long to make a substantial difference to Hypoglycaemia and Food Intolerance. If you have Candida, you may like to stay on this strictest phase for a few weeks, as this parasite takes longer to curtail. This ‘detox with a difference’ gives you the most nutritious foods in abundance – meat, fish, eggs, vegetables & salads – so that you don’t feel hungry and you start to renourish your body with vital nutrients to fight all three ailments. It is low in carbohydrate, so that you stabilise Hypoglycaemia and stop feeding sugary foods to the Candida parasite. It also takes you off the most common food intolerances in the UK – wheat and milk. Your safe

grains become brown rice and porridge oats. You can also have plain Natural Live (Bio) Yoghurt, as this will feed your good gut bacteria to help fight Candida. The diet was designed to overcome food cravings and to put people back in control of food. It does this. As the icing on the cake (excuse the pun), the weight loss can be quite incredible. The current record is 17lb in 5 days and there’s every chance that you can drop a dress size in a week. For the cherry on the icing on the cake, it’s not just weight that you’ll lose. The three conditions come with many other nasty symptoms. As well as food cravings and weight disappearing, you may find any, or all, of the following clear up: bloating, IBS, PMT, headaches, psoriasis, muscle aches, thrush, dandruff, energy highs and lows, irritability and hunger at 11am and 4pm, waking at 4am, feeling like your get up and go has got up and gone and more.
