Keeping your family’s clothes looking bright and beautiful is easier than you think. Dr. Beckmann has a range of products that will not only keep your brights looking bright but are quick and easy to use and maintain the health of your machine.

They also have a wealth of tips for you to use when carrying out your washing.

1. Colour collecting Sometimes, garments with multiple colours can’t be sorted – patterns and stripes are especially challenging and colour runs can occur from time to time for even the most diligent washers. Using Dr. Beckmann Colour and Dirt Collector in the washing machine means you can wave goodbye to colour runs, and keep your clothes brighter for much longer. By using a Colour & Dirt Collector sheet you don’t have to worry about putting colours

or stripes in the wash with your other clothes. They will all come out looking the same and maintain their bright, ‘just bought’ look.

2. Keep whites looking white White clothes look great when they are new – but a few washes in and they can start to look grey and dull. This is because the fabric is usually coated with optical brighteners. As you wash your garments these will wash off over time, thus leaving your clothes with the grey and dull appearance. You can easily stop this from happening with Dr. Beckmann’s Glowhite. Simply pop a sachet of Glowhite in with your white load, adding detergent as normal, to bring your whites back to life.

3. Washing Machine It’s also really important to make sure your washing machine is working at its full capacity. By looking after it on an on-going basis will mean you also avoid costly call out charges. Keep an eye out for the fol- lowing three tell tale signs that your machine needs some TLC: i. Unpleasant odour – the odour is caused by mould which is caused by bacteria in the washing machine. Mould can be carried on your clothes, bedding and towels even after they have been washed, and can lead to respiratory problems.

ii. Black, slimey residue – This can be found in and around the door seal as well as inside the drum. The residue or soap scum is the build up of washing detergents and fabric softeners that stays in the washing machine and does not get rinsed away. The build up can start to come away from the drum and the door and find its way back onto your clothes leaving dirty black marks.

iii. Black spots on clothing – The black spots on clothing can be down to either the soap scum left in your machine or if you live in a hard water area it could be down to limescale. Limescale builds up on the pipes and elements of your washing
