When the Montanez family agreed to do an interview with HarvestMag, we were thrilled because we knew that as missionaries living down in Costa Rica they would have an enormous wealth of wisdom to share. We hope you all enjoy their interview as much as we do!

ELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF, YOUR FAMILY, AND WHAT YOU ARE DOING DOWN IN COSTA RICA.
Thank you; we feel honored by your request. We moved from Puerto Rico to Florida in 2004 and met YHWH in a different way than most. The destruction from the hurricanes that year brought us to our knees, and we surrendered to His will. Amazing things happened during those months in the midst of the hurricanes’ destruction that transformed us. I made a covenant with YHWH that we would serve Him forever.
Our sons Christian and Christopher saw YHWH at work, and it became their testimony. His mighty hand opened doors and opportunities to serve. We took the boys to homeschooling sports, and I had started working part-time at the church with time to participate and help coaching sports and doing devotionals.
A door opened to direct the midweek children’s ministry, and that opened some amazing opportunities to use all that we had learned. We taught creation science and missionary stories, which consequently made a mark on us.
We soon surrendered our lives to full-time service and to searching deeper for understanding. We went to conferences and missionary school, visited pastors and elders, but couldn’t find the salt that we were hungry for.
It was then that a family paid to take us to a Sukkot in TX. Wow! We met people with saltiness in their conversation like never before, and that encounter started us on a journey to seek for the Truth.
We had to leave our job at the church because keeping His Torah was incompatible with their belief system. We also left our home since it belonged to a church member.
The rest has been a journey of faith as He opened and closed doors. He called us to Central America from Florida and provided for us the necessary air travel and place to live. Now we have reached the place YHWH chose for us which we never knew existed.
