DUFAYLITE DEVELOPMENTS (Stand N1102)
Dufaylite Developments Ltd will be showcasing its latest environmentally-friendly clayboard innovation at Ecobuild 2013, which, unlike other alternatives in the marketplace, has a 100% recycled and biodegradeable, paper honeycomb core set between two polypropylene facings which have up to 70 percent recycled material content. It has been strategically designed to protect against ground movement and clay heave ultimately causing subsidence in many residential, commercial and industrial buildings.
Dufaylite will demonstrate its two ranges at Ecobuild - Clayboard Ultra which is used for commercial and industrial projects where a stronger more durable product is required an Clayboard Eco - used for Residential projects (BBA Certified) where the required depth of void is less and also where cost is of higher importance. Both ranges are available in 4 different thicknesses determined by the level of soil shrinkage occurring.
BOON EDAM (Stand N816) Visitors to Boon Edam’s stand will see its latest range of revolving doors which help conserve energy by reducing building energy loss and preventing draughts. The company is encourag- ing people to use revolving doors instead of swinging doors which let out eight times as much heated air. Recognising the ever-increasing awareness of environmental issues and energy conservation, the company has also recently introduced its Energy Savings Calculation Software which quantifies the energy savings and draught infiltration benefits offered by revolving doors.
JOHN NEWTON & CO LTD (Stand N1255)
John Newton & Co Ltd will be profiling Newton Diathonite, an eco-friendly thermal plaster. Newton Diathonite is a premixed plaster, fibre-reinforced with cork (granular 0-3mm), clay powders and NHL 3.5 natural hydraulic lime. The resulting natural compound produces a plaster with unrivalled thermal and acoustic properties that is both hard wearing and flexible which is ideal for both internal and external applications. Diathonite, when applied either internally or externally, creates a seamless thermal barrier which eliminates any risk of cold bridging within the structure.
INTERFACE (Stand S430)
Sustainability remains firmly at the top of the agenda within the flooring industry and the challenge for manufacturers is to ensure that their products also deliver in terms of perform- ance and design. For Interface, sustainability is at the very core of the business and it is continually working towards its Mission Zero goal to eliminate the company’s environmental impact by 2020. It is constantly innovating in terms of product development in order to support this aim and will be showcasing two of its most sustainable products to date at Ecobuild 2013.
Earlier this year, Interface launched Fotosfera, the industry’s first ever truly commercial carpet tile made from plant (or bio) based nylon. Fotosfera comprises yarn made from castor oil, which is derived from plants that are fast growing and therefore readily renewable.

COILLTE PANEL PRODUCTS (Stand S825)
“New legislation on timber procurement means everyone involved in specifying, installing or selling wood products has no choice but to look very closely at where they are sourcing materials, particularly if these are first placed on the European market from countries outside of the EU. By specifying and procuring products that have been manufactured from timber grown in Ireland and which carry all the relevant documentation to prove their provenance and due diligence processes, there is no risk of non compliance” says Andrew Macdonald, Director, Sales & Marketing.
Coillte Panel Products with its SmartPly OSB, Medite and Medite Tricoya products will be showcasing not only its transparent position on sustainability, but also some key innovations in wood panel products. With such a strong environmental stance and product innovation, SmartPly, Medite and Medite Tricoya mark a step-change in the wood panels industry.
Joanna Smith, Marketing Manager for Coillte Panel Products, said, “This really is a step- change for the wood panels industry - at Coillte Panel Products innovation meets environmen- tal transparency, with a positive impact on anyone who regularly specifies, works with, or sells MDF and OSB panels. With testing times ahead, as the industry faces strict legislation on the sourcing and selling of all timber products, now is an important time for this sector. Medite and SmartPly are able to provide the right level of technical support and environmental manage- ment to help meet the challenge.”

Lisa Farnsworth, Sales Director for Stormsaver, highlights, “Ecobuild 2012 was a huge success for Stormsaver and was part of our partnership launch with Alumasc. The diversity of visitors that came to our stand last year was very encouraging and we had many opportunities to educate visitors on how simple, effective and low cost rainwater harvesting solutions can be for practically any home or business. The show was great for being able to talk through the possibilities available and discussing the types of systems best suited to each particular job. We are really excited about Ecobuild 2013 and are planning to have an even better year showcasing our latest achievements and new product developments, particularly in the domestic sector. This time we will have our own stand which will be part of a specialist Rainwater Harvesting area.”
