he Alberta Fitness Leadership Certifi cation Association (AFLCA) is the leader in training


and certifi cation of group exercise fi tness lead- ers in Alberta. A not-for-profi t, provincial associa- tion, we have been setting the standard for fi tness certifi cation for 27 years. Our courses are deliv- ered through distance education and also with the assistance of more than 250 agencies province- wide. (AFLCA training is also available to high- school students through Alberta Education.) Nationally recognized AFLCA certifi cation places you in a nationally

recognized group of peers. The AFLCA is a found- ing partner of the National Fitness Leadership Alliance (NFLA). This ensures national recognition of AFLCA certifi cation and transferability to other provinces. he BCRPA is a provincial, not-for-profi t profes- sional association that acts as a regulatory body


for the fi tness industry by collaboratively devel- oping, recognizing and promoting provincial and national standards for the training and registration of fi tness leaders in BC. With over 5,400 registered fi tness leaders, the BCRPA is the largest fi tness registry in Canada and has gained recognition as the standard against which the qualifi cations of a fi tness leader may be measured. Types of regis- trations include: Group Fitness, Aquatic Fitness, Pilates Fitness, Yoga Fitness, Weight Training, Personal Training and Osteofi t. Registration fees include $2 million of liability insurance val- id for teaching anywhere in Canada (Personal Trainers must purchase their own policy). Because the BCRPA is a member of the National Fitness Leadership Alliance (NFLA), BCRPA registrations are transferable to other provinces across Canada.
