What were the main challenges you faced when you started and how did you overcome these?

Leaving a gym chain meant that I lost access to 100’s of potential “leads” per month. When I stopped treating my business like a conveyor belt of clients and started to focus on how I actually wanted to train people I realized that the word of mouth promotion from my current clients produce more leads for me than I have ever had from typical gym members.

Not only do my clients continue to renew, I have attracted the type of client that will constantly refer for me. This enables me to put all my effort into helping my clients achieve their results while all my marketing and promotion is free and takes care of itself.

What is the next step for you and where do you see yourself in the future?

I would love to get to work with professional sports teams in the future. I have built up good relationships with

strength & conditioning coaches around my area that currently work with elite level athletes and we constantly share best practice.

They usually come from a purely sports science background and sometimes lack the ability to integrate what they put on paper into their athletes programming. This is where I believe I have built up the experience to effectively bridge the gap between science and proven best practice.

A typical day in the life of:

I usually get up at around 0630 and use my early mornings to respond to any emails, read a bit and make sure I am prepared for my morning sessions.

I train clients from 0830-1230. I usually have a 4/5 hour gap for lunch. I don’t book anyone in at this time, if I do then they pay a higher rate, I value my lunch as I get a lot of my work done in that time.
