Learning and Leisure
Learning and Leisure for Adults LearningNewThings
We arrange courses like Cookery, Keeping Safe and Making Friends. Saturday IT classes cover photography, email, Facebook and Skype. We also run taster days for new activities such as gardening or card making.
‘J thoroughly enjoyed his cookery session, shared his soup and gave us very good detail about how it was made.’
We have sport and fitness sessions at Parmiter’s School and Everyone Active.

To help people with a learning disability gain confidence and have their voice heard, we run groups across South West Hertfordshire. This enables people with learning disabilities, including those with profound and multiple learning disabilities, to have their say.
‘I like coming to the group because it helps me to make my own decisions about what I want to do with my life, giving me the confidence to speak up!’
If you would like to join a Speaking Up group contact Sandra Ludlow 07798 586567 or

Campaigning for Change
Watford Mencap represents the views of people with a learning disability and their families on groups like Watford Together, the Learning Disability Partnership Board, the Personalisation Sub-Group and the Mencap County Group. We facilitate the Watford and Three Rivers Local Area Forum and coordinate the Profound and Multiple Learning Disability Network for Hertfordshire.
Our Personalisation, E-learning and Information Centre in Rickmansworth offers free training and development resources for social care organisations.
