This is the first port of call for support from Watford Mencap. We help people with a learning disability, parents and carers, providing information and support.
Do you need help applying for benefits or completing a form? Do you need advice about life after college? Advisers can help you decide. They can go to meetings with you, or speak to social workers.

Pat’s Story
Pat is the sole carer of her son, Stuart, who has learning disabilities. Over the years the Advice and Information Team has supported her with a variety of things including benefits advice, housing support and, most importantly, planning for both

their futures. Pat was keen for Stuart to be more independent and the team talked Pat through the options. Stuart has now successfully moved into his own accommodation and the team is still there to provide support to them both.
