Based on the Slough Trading Estate, the 1,572 sq ft property is ideal for any business looking to expand. Please note that the use for the property must comply with its planning use.
Just 1.5 miles from the M4 motorway, the single storey semi detached unit includes five car parking spaces, one up and over door and WC. SEGRO will also construct a small office within the unit should this be beneficial or prove advantageous for the winning business.

How to apply: Complete the coupon and send us a business plan telling us what you do and what you need the premises for – if you want to look at the building first then visit on our open days in October and November.
The open dates will be held on October 9 10am to 4pm, October 10 10am to 4pm, October 16 4pm – 6.30pm and November 14 4pm to 6.30pm open to all considering entry but entrants do not have to attend. All entries must be submitted by noon December 21 2012. Shortlisted competitors will be invited to attend a judging panel in January 2013 to present their business plan. Financial information must be supplied in advance.

The guest judge is Kevin Gaskell, an energetic and passionate leader with a proven track record of managing growth, driving successful turnaround and delivering substantial improvements for companies. Kevin is a businessman, coach, leader, explorer and consultant to businesses large and small.

How to enter: All you need to do is complete the coupon and send it with an outline of your business plan, a summary of what you’ve done so far and why having dedicated premises would benefit your business to Emma Hammond, FTI Consulting, Holborn Gate, 26 Southampton Buildings, London, WC2A 1PB by December 21, 2012. If under 18 – please ask a parent/guardian to sign the form.
Terms and conditions: The prize equals the lease for a 12 month period from April 2013 – April 2014 at 887 Plymouth Road, Slough Trading Estate, SL1 4LP, owned by SEGRO plc, of 234 Bath Road, Slough, SL1 4EE, and includes all rent, business rates and service charges for the same period (with the exception of utility bills and insurances such as public liability). The full terms of the lease will be sent to the shortlisted. Any other costs will be borne by the winner i.e. utility costs for the year and any financial or legal advice taken. There will be no obligation for the winner to recommit to the lease after the year ends in April 2014.

The competition is open to businesses based in the Thames Valley that would benefit from new premises. Schools, colleges or universities with an entrepreneurial idea are also eligible if they have an idea which would use the unit creatively for a year.
It is not open to businesses simply looking to relocate. The judging panel’s decision on the eligibility of competitors will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
