being the youngest competitor in the field, she earned third place with a score of 224.5, making her both the top amateur and top female finisher.
Jeff Scott, son of Lorie and Brett Scott of College Station, was recently
one of ten recipients of the Phi Kappa Psi Foundation 2012 UIFI Fellowship recipients. Jeff attends the University of Oklahoma, and the fellowship will enable him to participate in an intensive, interactive, and energizing week- long leadership experience.
Griffin Knight of Madisonville isn’t only talented horseback, though
she will start Auburn University this fall as a member of their equestrian team. She has maintained a busy horse show schedule, but she has also been a member of the Madisonville Mustang Softball team, earning All-District honors all 4 years of high school. Recently she was recognized as First-Team All-District Pitcher.
Monica Hicks and Justin Mathisonwere married on May 5 in a back
yard ceremony at their home in Tioga. Their reception plans, however, changed the morning of the wedding. A tent had been set up, and tables, chairs, and all had been ready on Friday night, but a severe thunderstorm blew in, lifting the tent walls and blowing in the rain. When the damage was seen the next morning, the couple decided to move the reception to the Spirit of the West resort in Tioga, and that would have been impossible without the couple’s families and many of their friends. Linens were laundered, tables and chairs moved, decorations hung, flowers put together, and everything reset. The couple expressed gratitude to Colleen and Tim McQuay, Todd and Missy Bergen, Troy and Andrea Heikes, Terri Griffin, Pete Kyle and his
