The American Paint Horse
Association Ride America pro- gram recently announced its 2011 “Saddle Stars” for the association’s 14 worldwide zones. The year-end awards recognize the rider in each zone who logs in the most hours annually (Jan. 1 - Dec. 31). Winners included Kent Midgett (Zone 4/Robstown, TX/Sparks A Dancin) and Deana Boyd (Zone 5/Mena, AR/Sheza Sierra Gold/Shilohs Triple Spots/Jamars Spots).
The American Competitive Trail
Horse Association (ACTHA) recently an- nounced that Secon Johnie Wolf (APHA) had received the association’s first Platinum Medal, having earned over 300 points in ACTHA competition with owner Judy Lim- sky of Forney aboard.

Mary King of Fort Stockton suffered a
severe concussion in a horse accident in late March. Not accustomed to taking things easy, the redhead has chafed at the bit during her recovery. Mary competes in Stock Horse of Texas shows and won a couple of Texas State 4-H Horse Show championship buckles sev- eral years ago.

Arkansas Arabian Horse Club held its
first high-point show of the year on April 28, at White County Fairgrounds in Searcy. The event was blessed with lovely weather, a great turnout, and lots of new folks. Another AAHC show will be held again in Searcy on August 4. fmi,
