W The SouthWest Chat
elcome to the June issue of SouthWest Horse Trader. We have a full assortment of coverage ranging from the per- formance events like cutting, reining and reined cow
horse to the finesse of dressage, hunter/jumper and Arabians. It’s been a tough month in the Stock Horse world where lives
have been forever changed. As we were going to press I received a text from one of my
friends that Debbie Crawford had just lost her horse following her run at the San Antonio Quarter Horse Show. The horse, Fridays Gold Eclipse, was Debbie’s Non-Pro horse that she showed in Stock Horse Versatility, Reining, and Reined Cow Horse events. The 1998 stallion by Steady Tradition and out of Bar Good Friday was most recently the 2011 Non Pro Champion in Stock Horse of Texas. The duo also earned the coveted Superior Stock Horse Merit Award. He is also a NRHA Non Pro Futurity and Non Pro Derby Cham- pion with over $70,000

later my phone rings again from a familiar num- ber. Zinn Lind- sey, 18, son of

Matt and Kim Lindsey from Jayton, Texas had been killed in an automobile accident on his way to school. Zinn was a gifted cowboy that was literally raised from boyhood on the back of a horse. Active in 4-H, Stock Horse of Texas and Ranch Horse Association of America to name a few, many families knew and loved Zinn. Funeral services were held Thursday,
May 17at Swenson Baptist Church, with bur- ial following at the Aspermont cemetery. Friends of Zinn saddled up and lined the streets of the cemetery giving him a West Texas Cowboy send-off. Several memorial scholarship funds
have been set up and donations may be made in his name to the Texas 4-H Foundation, Stock Horse of Texas or Ranch Horse Asso- ciation of America. w
