when New Mexico State Veterinarian David Fly, DVM, confirmed that the horses had tested positive for the re- portable disease. The horses were quarantined and under veterinary care near Tularosa, in Otero County. The horses’ owners noted lesions on the animals shortly after turning them out into a new pasture.
