RVTPublisher’s Healthy Life and Times:

My dear RVT Readers, Busy times! First, I want to congratulate Dee

Boormen of Agassiz who won the two character dolls, Edward and

ferences. April 14th weekend the Lions held the District-I Con- vention here, and it was a huge success. I attended and got into the fun mode bigtime! People-helpers make up a great group of individuals! Even though I have been on Isagenix for almost a year now,

Arabella, at the Humdinger RV Show. Dee’s name was drawn by Rose Mary Wells of Happy Campers (toilet chemicals) who, with her hubby Curtis, had the booth beside mine. T e clown doll on the leſt is

scheduled for the BC Interior RV Show happening in the South Okanagan Events Cen- tre in Penticton on May 4-6 so be sure to drop by my booth and fi ll in a draw form as he is another cutie! In March I helped my Mom

celebrate her 95th birthday. I asked the Sooke Harbour House to do up two of their hot lunches and a chocolate birthday cake for me to pick

up and take to Mom’s home in Victoria so she did not have to leave her nest. It was GREAT. I wrapped the hot dishes in ex- tra tinfoil and they were still warm 40 minutes later! If you ever want a birthday cake to die for, order the Sooke Harbour House’s chocolate one! I still drool every time I think of it! A special T ank YOU to all who phoned my Mom to wish

her a Happy 95th Birthday on March 12th . . . she loved chatting with all of you! Also in March I decided to join the Sooke Harbourside Lions

group of women. T e group meets twice a month and do great work in the community. T ey do regular fund-raising activities plus many of the women do extras for the families in need. T ey are an amazing group of gals. Sooke now has a Best Western Hotel (the Prestige) with lots of rooms and a ballroom, so we are now able to attract major con-

I am still surprised at my new size. I now eat two regular meals and have just one meal replacement Isagenix shake a day and am down to 127 pounds and healthier than I have ever been in my whole life! Not bad for someone ready to turn 65 this year on May 25th, eh? I have gone from size 14/16 slacks to size 6 and from a large/x-large top to a medium. Even my hands and feet have shrunk! I am fi nally used to attending Curves, (the fi tness centre for women) three times each week now, and my stamina has improved substantially. Can’t wait to get into my gardening clothes and tackle my fl ower beds! I have a bike and decided to take up 2-wheel bicycling this

summer, plus I intend to rent a Hobie Kayak that has pedals. T ey are available here in Sooke via the West Coast Outdoor Ad- venture Rentals. I want to see how I like being out on the water, for a change. Looking forward to driving to Penticton this May to attend the

fi rst ever BC Interior RV Show happening at the South Okana- gan Events Centre Complex at 853 Eckhardt Ave West from May 4 til the 6th. It seems the Events Centre covers over nine acres, of which 80,000 square feet are indoors so wear your walking shoes for sure! T e Show is open Friday from noon til 9, Saturday from 10-9 and Sunday from 10-4. T ere is a $5 admission that will do you for all three days. T ey are asking you to also bring along a non-perishable food item for their donation basket. Check out more details at www.bcinteriorrvshow.ca and please search me out to say “Hi!” Want to have some family fun this May? Attend the Sooke

Harbourside Lion’s 6th Annual Rubber Duck Race on May 12th and maybe win some money! See top of page 38. On June 22-25, I am going with my friend Hazel from Mis-

sion, in her RV, to attend the 15th Annual RV Owners’ Lifestyle Seminars. Details on page 39. Come and join in the fun! Re T e RV Times website: John Overall, the Webmaster of RV-

Times.ca says our average monthly traffi c is 6,500 visitors with 16,000 page views. Advertisers, for aff ordable rotating banner ads, contact John at 250-885-2888.
