Jon Hanford has been appointed to the newly created role of director of technology, looking after the sports digital media company’s technology strategy. Hanford recently moved on after 24 years at the BBC, three of which were as head of technology for sport. Most recently, he was senior architect and technical design authority for


the BBC’s 2012 Olympic digital and online services. “We couldn’t be more pleased to have Jon on board,” said


Deltatre Media managing director Paul Bristow. “With London 2012 approaching and our 10-year anniversary coming up in July, we’re at a pivotal point in the development of the company. Having Jon’s calibre of technical expertise and experience is vital to our ongoing advancement in the market.” Deltatre Media employs 60 full-time staff in London.


JULIA SPEED NON-LINEAR EVOLUTION


Julia Speed has joined NLE to set up the com- pany’s new digital imaging technician diary


service. Based at the company’s Bottle Yard base in Bristol, Speed has taken on the role of facilities co-ordination manager. She recently worked as production co- ordinator for Darlow Smithson on Stephen Hawking’s Universe.

CLIVE MUMBY ORAD Clive Mumby has been appointed UK sales manager at Orad. Mumby has


been given the task of increasing Orad’s foothold in the UK and raising its profile in the broad- cast graphics and server-based solutions market. Prior to Orad, he was European sales manager for Associated Press’ ENPS and worked in Quantel as chief editor of broadcast systems, specialising in file-based workflows.


Cloud-based rights and distribu- tion technology company Right- ster has made three senior appointments. Former Limelight Networks employee Chris Towns- ley has been recruited to the role of VP sales for Europe, the Mid- dle East and Africa. Julian Hum- phryes, formerly of Endemol and RedLever, has been appointed content solutions director, with the task of helping content pro- ducers, publishers and media


MARISE PLATER HOLDAN Former Sony and Quadrant product special- ist Marise Plater has joined Holdan


as product manager, with responsibility for Apace and Vitec Multimedia’s asset-management solutions. Plater will take the lead in the rollout of Apace’s Octopa software, which manages and controls facility-wide media assets across all devices and stor- age systems. She will also oversee the launch of the new Proxsys MA LTO archiving solution.


PETER BILLING ALTERED IMAGES


Technology reseller Altered Images has recruited Peter Billing as area sales manager


for northern clients. Based in the company’s Manchester office, Billing will look after sales and business development. Before joining Altered Images, he was business development manager at Quadrant Video for 12 years.


FRASER JARDINE OASYS Oasys has appointed Fraser Jardine to the role of vice-president of global sales.


Jardine joins the playout tech- nology company from Kit Digital, where he was vice-president, EMEA partnerships. He will manage Oasys’ sales team and oversee direct sales, as well as building the company’s network of global resellers.


SHANE MCCARTHY PACE Set-top box manufacturer Pace has pro- moted Shane McCarthy to president of


its international business unit. McCarthy replaces Mark Lough- ran with immediate effect and will take over responsibility for Pace International’s business in EMEA, APAC and Brazil. In his previous role, he was Pace’s senior vice-president and general man- ager of EMEA and Asia Pacific.
