Cloud-based software and technology service provider Kit Digital helped to launch Irish broadcaster RTÉ’s on- demand app for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. Kit Digital’s Connected Device Framework and software platform is being used to support the iOS app, which allows users of Apple devices to stream programmes for up to 21 days after trans- mission using a Wi-Fi or 3G network, and watch selected live shows from RTÉ One, RTÉ Two and RTÉ News Now.
GERMANY ● MAGENTA ADDS FILM MASTER
Post-production house Magenta TV has expanded its Nucoda DI suite with a second Nucoda Film Master. The facil- ity needed a colour-grading system that could work with multiple file and camera formats and could be integrated into its Avid workflow. Magenta TV colour- ist Simon Schneider said: “Most of our clients come to us with their final edited material on QuickTime ProRes or Avid DNxHD MXF files.”
TURKEY ● GEARHOUSE BUILDS TRT TRUCKS
Systems Integrator Gearhouse Broadcast has designed and built two high-defini- tion outside broadcast vans for state broadcaster Turkish Radio and Tele vision Corporation (TRT). The two 14-metre- long OB vans have the capacity for a production crew of 16 and each has a standalone 5.1 audio mixing area, pro- duction gallery and engineering control room.
GREY JUICE HEADS TO BUENOS AIRES ARGENTINA ●
Grey Juice Lab is opening an office in Buenos Aires to help its clients in the region acquire, package and market IPTV and OTT video services. “Across much of Latin America, the competition in IPTV and OTT VoD has increased dramatically in the past 12 months,” said Grey Juice Lab chief executive Mihai Crasneanu.
