Disability Sport to the max! A sports club for disabled children and young people.


Day: Monday Times: 5.15pm – 6.45pm Ages: 8 – 19 years old


Cost: £15 per six week course or £3 per session


Place: Maidstone Leisure Centre


Community Boxing Programme Day: Tuesday and Thursday Times and places:


Tuesday Senior session (16 – 21 years) at Howard de Walden from 7pm - 8pm


Thursday Junior session (8 – 13 years) at Heather House from 4pm - 5pm


Kwik Cricket School Sports Festival


Day: Thursday, June 14 Place: Mote Cricket Club


This event is a primary school festival organised by Phil Pass, County Cricket Development Officer and supported by the Community Development Team.

(Say No and Phone Dance Nights) Day: Friday, June 15 Times: 7pm - 11pm Ages: Under 18s


Cost: £5 each and can be bought from all secondary schools in Maidstone as well as Maidstone Leisure Centre.

Uprockin 2012 Day: Saturday, June 23 Times: 12pm - 6pm Ages: Open to all ages Cost: Free Place: Jubilee Field, Staplehurst


Maidstone Borough Council has teamed up with Staplehurst Parish Council to bring you Uprockin 2012. The competition will consist of several categories including skateboarding, BMX-ing, scooters and random wheel (heelies and inline skates)

Recycling Rates Residents have played an important part in the borough’s rising recycling rate. 80% of households are using the waste and recycling service, with more than 5,000 tonnes recycled over the last 12 months. However the best news is that overall, Maidstone residents are producing 8% less waste than the previous year.


Dickens remembered This year marked what would have been Charles Dickens 200th birthday, Maidstone’s Cobtree Manor Park featured as Manor Farm in the author’s first novel – The Pickwick Papers.

Illegal taxi trading leads to suspensions


Maidstone Borough Council has put the brakes on two private hire drivers after they were caught illegally plying for trade. They were given strong warnings about their future conduct and suspended - one for four weeks and one for three weeks.
