Akilah Beckles ’05 was one of the chosen Conyers Dill & Pearman bursary awardees last August to help her pursue her education as a law student at Kaplan Law School/College of London.
Rosemary Hall ’06 University of Oxford, and Ashley Heslop ‘11, Royal Veterinary College, were both awarded the Nicholl Scholarship to help them further their education.
Alexis Biermann ‘06 graduated in October 2011 with her honours MA degree in History from the University of Waterloo in Canada. She recently got engaged to fellow old boy Rowland Robinson ’05 after dating for 7 years!
Emily Biermann ’08 will graduate from the University of Waterloo in Canada with honours in her undergraduate Fine Arts degree in June 2012.
Freya Lawrence ’09 a University of Toronto psychology student, has been selected to volunteer with the Care Baboon Fostering programme in Phalaborwa, South Africa. She will spend the month of May working with the project run by South African, Rita Miljo.
Yanni DelValle ‘09 and Julianna Gibbons ’10 were selected to take part in the coveted Teen Vogue’s Fashion University in Manhattan.
Carolita Joseph ’10 was awarded the Bacardi Limited Scholarship to help further her goal in attaining her Bachelors Accounting and Criminal Science and a Masters in Accounting from Pennsylvania State University.

Jessica Lewis ’11 became the first athlete to represent Bermuda in the Para-Pan American Games, competing in the 100m, 200m
Heather Macdonald ‘98 recently visited Talley Smith ‘98, ranger at Londolozi Private Game Reserve in Sabi Sands, South Africa. The word Londolozi is the Zulu word for protect and means “protector of all living things.” Londolozi prides itself on its ambitious conservation ethic and is known as a pioneer of the eco-tourism industry in South Africa. If you have the opportunity to go to Londolozi, Heather recommends you request Talley as your ranger and be prepared to see one of the most beautiful parts of the world.
and 400m races at in Guadalajara Mexico in November, 2011. Jessica missed out on a medal by only 3 three hundredths of a second in the 100m and logged a personal best in the 400m. Three companies in Bermuda, MAAC running club, RenRe and Bermuda Paralympic Association, co-sponsored Jessica to participate in the games and she wrote in “It meant the world to me that people believed in me and wanted to help me achieve my dreams of competing at the international level.” Jessica is now training six days a week in a bid to compete in the 2012 Para-Olympics in London.
