Managing Director Brintons

On 2nd September 2011 Brintons Limited was bought out of administration by private equity company The Carlyle Group, a move that has enabled the carpet manufacturer to continue its growth plans. “Prior to that Brintons was in some financial difficulty,” explains Managing Director Don Coates. “We had a difficult three years since the banking crisis as we had committed significant investment in overseas manufacturing in China and pressure on costs mounted as the commodity cycle picked up.” In just a matter of months, with investment from The

was starved of cash is real,” adds Coates. “Carlyle is prepared to back Brintons with investment to develop the business in our growth and low cost manufacturing strategy.” Actively selling in Asia, Australia, China, the Middle East,

as well as more traditional markets where Brintons has built its business to date, the company knows there is still work to be done in restoring consumer confidence. “It’s about re-establishing the brand values of Brintons around top quality, top design, and to be the number one choice for any of the top branded groups looking to put down a carpet,” explains Coates. “We have a very loyal client base, many of whom have projects in the pipeline that we’re working on. I think the proof for clients will be in the delivery of those fantastically successful projects.” www.brintons.net/commercial
