The reaction from existing clients was hugely positive alongside

a sharp increase in new enquiries, said Tony, “We know only too well just how vitally important it is to maintain a well-presented office. We can’t expect potential clients to allow us to handle their property if we are seen to not be able to handle our own!” “MPL helped us create a modern, fresh, working environment

that was not just good on the eye but a great place to spend your working day. They concentrated as much on the functionality of the work space as they did on the customer experience – although they didn’t let us down there either and the gain to the business has been huge.

“A key element of the brief was to create a

MPL’s crisp, clean, bright and surprisingly intimate design.

MPL InterIors “Without change there’s decay,” says Mike Simons of MPL Interiors. “It’s obvious, I know, but the trouble is that the decay creeps up slowly… and so many businesses allow it to go unnoticed until a smart new competitor opens in town.” Playing catch-up is not what the smart boys do.

They lead, often updating their branding and office interiors long before it becomes essential and this is exactly what Jacksons, with six offices in South West London, have been doing with MPL’s help over the last two years. The results have been spectacular. Tony McViegh, the MD of Jacksons, chose MPL for two reasons.

The first was because of the quality of their work. The second was the speed in which they could carry out the refurbishments. Tony says, “MPL guaranteed us that they would complete the work over the Christmas period to avoid any interruption to business, which is crucial for us. And they were as good as their word.”

client meeting area that was separate but still part of the office, where we can sit with them. Not having the barrier of a desk really works with some clients,” says Tony, “but as we had the space we still set the office up in the traditional fashion.” It’s a large office space that could have lacked

atmosphere without good design but the MPL designers created shape and form with matching lines for the feature ceiling and flooring and the unusual bespoke curved desks – all of which was further enhanced by the shape of the intimate reception space. To add colour and contrast bespoke

wallpaper was printed to match Jacksons colours (apparently no more expensive than off-the-shelf). This, with the fabrics on the

customer chairs and colour matched suspended lights, added warmth and style with the company colours integrated with the window displays. Mike Simons was pleased with the end result, not just the aesthetic side – even though the similarity between the finished design drawings and how the office turned out is pretty remarkable – but also the positive impact on Jacksons’ business. “If it works this well for our clients it has to be good for us,” he says with a smile.

Jacksons’ design turned out to look almost exactly like the plans.
