Rodney Parade


Type of conference facilities available: The Rodney Parade Business Club Lounge offers a dynamic space which can accommodate functions of a variety of sizes, big and small, and lends itself to many types of events including banquets and exhibitions. The David Watkins Premier Lounge is a stylish L-shaped, glass fronted lounge, perfect for drinks receptions and exhibitions. The 1875 suite can cater for classroom and meeting set-ups or more intimate dinner parties whilst there are smaller glass fronted Hospitality Suites running the length of the building for smaller meetings. The venue can also host to party celebrations, banquets and weddings.


Capacity: 300 guests in a single suite or up to 1,200 across the venue. There are a range of suites with smaller capacities, ranging from 10 guests upwards.


What sort of conferences have you hosted in the past? The facilities at Rodney Parade are very new, having only opened at the end of September. It has already hosted a major, full-site medical conference as well as a number of smaller events and Christmas party events. Being a rugby ground, we also provide matchday hospitality for up to a thousand guests for our Newport Gwent Dragons fixtures.


What can delegates expect if their conference is held at your venue? A hassle free set-up with a dedicated events manager and a bespoke package to suit you. The venue offers competitive all- inclusive conference packages and day delegate rates. Packages have a range of features including: tea, coffee and biscuit service; hot and cold buffet lunch; conference stationary to include flipcharts and pens; LCD projector and screen; free parking on site; complimentary Wi-Fi


What makes your venue different from others? Rodney Parade is the oldest top-flight rugby ground in Wales. The charm of hosting your conference at a venue that is steeped in over a century of Welsh sporting history is something unique to Rodney Parade. Also, the personal touch and intimacy of a club rugby ground centrally located with a friendly feel is an asset that would reflect well on any conference being held here.

Type of conference facilities available: Convention Centre with 20 meeting rooms; additional conference suites/private dining areas within Manor House and golf clubhouses; 1,200 sq m exhibition hall; Organiser’s Office and Business Centre; 400-bedroom hotel; Rooftop Garden and Barbecue Terrace; golf, spa and other leisure activities for team-building


Capacity: Caernarfon Suite holds 1,500 delegates for a lecture and 900 dining guests for a gala dinner


What sort of conferences have you hosted in the past? The venue has hosted most of the UK’s blue chip companies for large conferences and staged the EU Foreign Ministers Summit in 2005. Local business in South Wales are also regular users of the facilities. It has been voted the UK’s Top Conference Hotel for the last five years (reader poll, Conference & Incentive Travel) and was also voted Best UK Hotel for 2011 at the Meetings & Incentive Travel Awards.


What can delegates expect if their conference is held at your venue? Delegates can expect attentive service from the dedicated events team and varied facilities which can meet the demands of any event. The Convention Centre has recently been upgraded to provide flat screens in all meeting rooms for presentations and a new Monmouth Lounge providing lunch and refreshments. Free wifi is available throughout the Convention Centre and hotel.


What makes your venue different from others? With 400 bedrooms, three championship golf courses, luxury spas and health clubs, Celtic Manor occupies a unique position in the marketplace. Host venue for The 2010 Ryder Cup, Celtic Manor has proved itself capable of hosting one of the world’s biggest occasions and can turn that expertise to any size of event.


What sort of prices are we talking about? Prices depend on the size and style of the event but day delegate rates start from £35 and 24-hour delegate rates start from £150.
