How would the council like to see the future regeneration of the area pan out over the next few years? The borough is rich in industrial heritage
and this together with the natural beauty of the environment is attracting tourists into the area. Provision of the necessary tourism infrastructure such as accommodation, restaurants and visitor attractions will create help to boost job and training opportunities in the area and diversify the economy.
Do you feel you have to attracted a certain type of business to the area? Blaenau Gwent welcomes interest from
all industrial sectors and business types. The Enterprise Zone will provide an additional attraction, in terms of the increased potential for providing a new home for automotive and aerospace businesses.
Would you like to see people living and working in the area rather than commuting out of the area to work? Research shows that people both commute
into and out from the region, although the nearby cities of Cardiff and Newport obviously influence this balance. Blaenau Gwent also acts as a gateway to the Brecon Beacons National Park. The significant regeneration works within the area are likely to result in more people being attracted to the area in coming years.
