Year 7 triumph at Westminster Football tournament
On Friday 14th October, our girls represented The Grey Coat Hospital in a 8 aside Westminster football tournament. Alice Vyvyan 7G, Jasmine Hagan 7G , Ruby Murr 7G, Megi Braholli 7G, Imogen Edwards 7G, Gabrielle Monteiro 7R, Phoebe Sirett Harrison 7Y, Pariss Castro Richards 7C, Olivia Woolcott 7C, Annabelle Rayner 7C, Lucy Rayner 7T.
The girls fought their way through a very tough group stage to eventually go on to win the tournament on penalties. This was the first time that they have played together since the beginning of the year so this is an absolutely fantastic achievement!! As a whole school this is our second trophy (out of two) this year and 12th out of a possible of 15 in the last 6 years. That is an amazing achievement! I am very proud of all the girls' commitment to football and look forward to some extra hard training sessions next year as we look to defend out titles! Well done ladies!

Dance Interform Competition Since September, all year groups have been working hard, preparing a dance for the interform competition. The winners of each year group win the prestigious prize of performing at the PE Departments annual Gym and Dance Display. The added competitive nature bought on by this year’s Olympic theme, meant that all tutor groups were also identified with an Olympic country, which they could use to enhance the chorogra- phy of their dance.
The competition was fierce and all teams choreographed excellent dances that showed a variety of dance styles and included a range of music genres. All of the students involved should be praised for the immense amount of effort, energy and enthusiasm that they showed when performing their pieces. Well done to all of you that took part and congratulations to the winners of each year Australia (7T) , Italy (8C) and Belarus (9R).
