Prolonged applause for The Government Inspector

Members of the cast in a scene from The Government Inspector

The high expectations of the audience were amply realised as the complicated events in 'St Andrewski of Greycoatia' unfolded. From the outset when The Governor delivered the emergency details for evacuation, there was a clear link between the 'pseudo-Russian hearts on stage' and GCH dramatic presentations. Unlike the small-township,

members of the audience knew that, although Ivan Khlestakov might be a bona fide citizen of St Petersburg, he had certainly penned neither "Alice in Wonderland" nor "Spring Awakening". The Directors' hard work produced loud laughter and prolonged applause for the entertaining display of physical comedy created, for instance, by energetic Year

9 students as Bobchinsky and Dobchinsky. All the performers merit congratulations and the delighted audience conveyed its wholehearted appreciation whether for Anna Skvosnik-Dmuchanovsky's amorous advances or for the Postmaster's Yorkshire accent.
