Updated Yoga Teacher Training Program

yoga teacher training program and converting to a one weekend per month format for the 2012 session. School begins in March and runs one weekend per month through November. Topics covered will include asana alignment, anatomy, Sanskrit, Ayurveda, the Yoga Sutras, the business of yoga and much more. According to Happy Buddha Yoga owner, Kelly Kamm, “We’ve procured some of the top experts in their field to assist with the pro- gram. Plus, graduates can register with Yoga Alliance at the 200-hour level.”

H Members of the current group

have nothing but good things to say about the program. Charleen Pred- more says, “To say that I love this program would be an understate- ment. I don’t want it to end.” And Janet Koehler says that it “provides NYC quality instruction with the convenience of staying close to home.” “Those interested in becoming

a yoga teacher can come to the studio to take a class and see what we have to offer,” shares Kamm.

of well-being. Painting with watercolors has been an important journey for Lozoraitis since 1981, when she began her study in Harlemville, New York at the Atelier House of Assenza Painting with instruc- tor Donald Hall. Hall, who currently instructs in his school in Bolzano, Italy, has devoted his life to the study of color. He brings this world of color to his students as a living entity, the soul of the cosmos. “This way of painting shows us the doorway to

Watercolor Painting as a Healing Art F

or Jean Lozoraitis, the study of color is a medita- tive activity, restoring calm and instilling a sense

an inner landscape, a picture of the soul. The painter is responsible for bringing the colors to life by seeking their true nature. Then as the colors intensify, forms emerge and begin to develop into an imaginative and balanced composition. Painting in this meditative way helps the painter cast aside thoughts and worries by concentrating on what the colors are asking. Entering wholly into this world of color provides a sense of health and wellness,” she describes. Lozoraitis offers individual classes and group workshops. No experience is

necessary. For more information, call Jean Lozoraitis at 987-0457. See classified, page 41.
