n December 6 and 13, veterans will be able to
Debbie Broadman
experience a free yoga class at the Naurausham Presbyterian Church in Pearl River. The class will be taught by two registered yoga teachers, Debbie Broadman and Frank Finochio. According to Broadman, “Our combat veterans have experienced traumatic events during war and combat. They suffer from stress and PTSD and may not have the means to regulate the emotions associated with anger,
stress and PTSD. Yoga, with its body and breathing practices, is a tool our combat veterans can facilitate to help themselves.” Broadman and Finochio feel it is
an honor and a gift to serve combat veterans and teach them yoga so that they can help themselves back to a place of peace and calm. “Together we hope to give back to those who have courageously served for the United States of America,” adds Broadman.
Attendees are asked to bring a mat or towel.
Location: Nauraushaun Presbyterian Church, 51 Sickletown Rd, Pearl River. Time: 7:30 to 8:30 p. m. For more information, call Debbie at 201-314-7314 or Frank at 642-3553. See ad, page 24.

The website also contains summaries from past meetings discussing natural therapies, including The An- nie Appleseed Project’s Complementary/Alternative Cancer Therapies conferences. Their upcoming annual conference will be March 5, 2012. “Our philosophy points to a slow and steady movement
toward health, including eating organic fruits and vegetables, doing a little bit of exercise/movement daily, learning to relax and be happy in the moment, detoxing, and using supple- ments, herbs and spices to enhance your health. Combine that with your treatments of choice and making the most informed decisions and you will feel better as you go through the cancer journey.” shares Fonfa.

Massage Therapy Training J
SG School of Massage Therapy has been training
and certifying massage ther- apists for over fifteen years. Dr. Jane Garofano explains, “I have seen this career grow in the past years. For many it is a career change. I also have worked with many healthcare workers, nurses, skin care specialists and other practitioners who want to add massage to what they can offer their patients and clients. It seems that massage therapy is here to stay.” The upcoming massage course is an accelerated ten
week class approved by the NJ Department of Education and prepares individuals to be New Jersey massage therapists. Dr. Garofano has developed a PowerPoint and DVD tuto- rial course and is offering an additional class in January and February on Sundays in addition to the usual Monday/Tues- day courses offered. Regular semesters are spring, summer and fall. Garofano invites you to “join us in a small personal class.”
