FLEXIBLE FRONT END Weighing less than 3kg, the front


end transmits uncompressed RAW data at around 18Gb/s to the back-end image-processing and recording body. The front-end head offers multiple mounting points, which makes it well suited to 3D stereo rigs that need to reduce the interocular distance. The fi rst units have begun shipping to 3D production outfi t Cameron Pace. PL mounts mean the camera is also compatible with existing stocks of lenses.


WORKFLOW


Output options for the camera include ProRes, Arri RAW and HD- SDILog C, Rec 709 or DCI P3 and Arri Look fi les. Apple ProRes on- board fi le-based recording onto SxS Pro cards supports all fi ve Apple ProRes codecs so the same codec can be used to shoot and then edit in Final Cut Pro and Avid MC-5 with AMA. HD-SDI integrates into existing HD infrastructure and is confi gurable with HD-SDI outputs, providing 3G 444, dual 1.5G 444 or 2 x 422 options.
