FEATURE SOUND ADVICE

Three seminar rooms at BVE North will cover topics including social TV, data management, 3D production and post, and a panel discussion on the monetisation opportunities surrounding multiplatform broadcasting. BVE event director Charlotte Wheeler says 70% of the content fea-

tured in the seminar programme will be regional. In keynote speeches, BBC North controller of production Mark Har-

rison and BBC North head of technology Tim Sargeant will discuss BBC North’s technology choices. Harrison, who is also the BBC lead for cross- broadcaster initiative the Digital Production Partnership, says taking part in the BVE North seminar programme will be “a great opportunity to extend the dialogue between broadcasters, suppliers and the production community – particularly those based in the North”. He will present the findings of the DPP’s recent report into digital

Prism Sound will use BVE

North to demonstrate SADiE 6, a new software-only version of its recording and editing system. SADiE 6 operates on Microsoft Windows computers as well as existing SADiE 5 hardware platforms. Prism Sound says this extended compatibility will help to reinforce the brand’s appeal to broad- casters and profes- sional users by giving location recordists, sound designers, audio editors and post-production engi- neers the tools they need for today’s audio recording and editing requirements. Also on show is the company’s SADiE LRX2 multi-track location recording workstation. Users can record up to 64 channels at 48kHz/24bit, or 32 channels at 96kHz/24bit, from a range of dedicated input cards including MADI and mic pre-amps. Prism Sound will complete its BVE North line-up with its dScope Series III audio analyser, the DSA-1 and the Orpheus Computer Fire- Wire Interface.
