If you could do one thing differently in your life, what would that be?


This is going to sound odd, but I would divorce my husband sooner, rather than staying with him for over 17 years. He was an alcoholic, and sometimes became abusive when he was drunk. I always thought staying together for the kids was the right thing to do, but I was wrong. My girls were much happier (as was their mother) after the divorce.


Barbara also does a lot to give back to the com- munity. She is active in Dress For Success and Big Brother Big Sisters, and in particular “Big Day at the Lake, an event that provides a day of lakeside activities for children in the program. Barbara is also involved with the Lake Norman Chamber and E – Women Network.
