Keeping Gaming Fun and Safe
ince its foundation in 1997 GamCare (The National Association for Gambling Care, Treatment, Support and Educational Resources)
has worked tirelessly to encourage responsibility in gambling.
14 years on, the well respected charity is still leading the way as an authoritative and reasoned voice for keeping gambling both fun and safe in Great Britain, Europe and Worldwide.

The British Gambling Prevalence Survey 2010 (BGPS 2010) revealed that 73% of the population
gamble- higher than ever before- the study also revealed that problem gambling affects around 0.9% of the population of the UK, around 450,000 people. Although a small percentage, this unfortunately is also higher than ever before.
GamCare is the national registered charity that provides the National Gambling HelpLine (0845 6000 133), NetLine (
www.gamcare.org.uk), and counselling services for problem gambling in Great Britain. To do this work, in 2010/11 GamCare received £2.5million in funding raised by the industry and granted to GamCare by the Responsible Gambling Fund (RGF). From April 2012, this arrangement will change following the resignation of the RGF Board of Trustees. GamCare is working with the GREaT Foundation, the industry fund raising body, to ensure there is no disruption of service.
In 2010/11 GamCare’s HelpLine and NetLine received nearly 1000 calls a week and we saw over 2,600 clients for counselling across the
