s it just me or has G2E suddenly loomed large on the radar like Battlestar Galactica jumping in from another sector?

I know the dates have changed but a hectic summer spent developing our new Casino Life Application and making sure all our social media ducks have been lined up (excuse the metaphor) has meant the show seems much earlier than event originally planned. Still, with ICE soon changing its dates to February in 2013 we will soon be back to a sensible global schedule of major exhibition dates. There is much anticipation of the new venue for G2E and I am sure the Las Vegas Sands will exceed industry expectations and win us all over. As Gavin Isaacs wisely (or should that be “cannily”?) points out in our interview with him – at least it is an industry client that will benefit from the show.

Two companies that will be standing tall at G2E are Quixant who have recently announced that they have opened a Las Vegas office whilst Cammegh have been awarded a coveted Nevada licence, so they are, to quote Andrew Cammegh: “….the only company designing, manufacturing, finishing and assembling manual roulette wheels outside the Americas for the State of Nevada.”

Another company, albeit on a different scale, that we look forward to seeing develop into a fully fledged butterfly is “Spielo International”. The Atronic name may be missed by some, but in recent years they have not lived up to previous glories so let’s hope the new name and gameplan pay off. They will be G2E showing off their new name and branding.

Back to this issue and I am pleased that a planned focus on Africa by GBGC has worked out well co-inciding with our neat interview with Shane Collinson at Durban’s Suncoast Casino. Elsewhere we talk to Sebastian Salat and Gavin Isaacs about their corporate plans whilst Lucien Wijsman looks at the difference between Time on Device Players and Gamblers.

We look forward to meeting some of you in Las Vegas – please try and drop by on our stand.
