TIGHTENING OF ET PROCEDURES
The Holstein UK Board has recently instructed that the process of registering births resulting from ET is tightened up. A new recording program that has been created means that the registration of ET calves will be rejected unless we have a record that ties up the collection of an embryo and the subsequent transfer to a recipient dam.
There are documents in existence to record this information, the ET1 and ET2 forms; indeed the majority of ETs. we register already have the cor- rect paperwork in place when the calves are born. However, a significant minority do not provide this information in advance of registration. Please ensure that your ET service provider com- pletes the appropriate documentation and that you supply them with the correct information. This will enable the registration process to be completed with- out delay.

NEW EX SECOND CALVERS
There have been three second calvers scored EX in the last quarter. They are J W C George & Sons’ Brynhyfryd Mr Sam Brittany, Castellhyfryd Spirte Rosina, the National All Breeds Show and Royal Welsh Champion owned by the partnership of Simon and Sian Davies with Kevin and Cathy Thomas, and Hilltara Damion Reann owned by Sam McCormick.
Congratulations to all three. DRESS CODE FOR SHOWING
Although the show season is drawing to a close, members are remind- ed that competitors in any event run under Holstein UK rules will be required to wear the Society’s showing uniform of white trousers or white jeans, white shirt, Holstein UK or HYB tie and a sturdy pair of shoes or boots, ideally jodhpur boots, NOT trainers. Specific British Friesian classes require the same uniform except that trousers should be black, not white.
