ClassACT: a new free service Herd Overview
This graph quickly allows consideration of how classifi ed animals are performing and changing with time. Different age groups of animals can be selected and it can be seen how the average classifi cation for each group has changed over recent years.
Clicking on any of the data points on the graph will link to a list of the animals included in that data point.
Sire Report
The Sire Report allows users to see how well the sires in their herd are performing.
Strengths and weaknesses are calculated by using a composite of their daughter’s scores. Each column in the “Main Sire List” can be re-ranked by clicking on the header to view the best and worst performing sires by each composite score.
Also by selecting either “Heifers” or “Cows” in the drop down menu and the pressing the button, daughter counts and composite scores will change to being based on that animal group only. A line graph below the “Main Sire List” will appear if you check the checkbox in the fi nal column of the grid. You can select up to three sires and the graph will show you Average Composite Scores of daughters at heifer, 2nd Calver, 3rd Calver and 4+ Calver stage. Again, by clicking on any data point on the graph, a list of the animals included in the data point is displayed. N.B. Composite scores are calculated from all of the sire’s daughters. Dead animal’s scores will still be used in calculating the sire’s composites.
