I bought my wife a 2nd hand Leopard skin coat. It was spotless.
A little girl asked her mother, "How did the human race appear?" The mother answered, "God made Adam and Eve and they had children, and that’s how all mankind was made." Two days later the girl asked her father the same question. The father answered, "Many years ago there were monkeys from which the human race evolved." The confused girl returned to her mother and said, " Mum, how is it possible that you told me the human race was created by God, and Dad said they developed from monkeys?" The mother answered, "Well, dear, it is very simple. I told you about my side of the family and your father told you about his."
So if you humans evolved
from us monkeys how come there are still monkeys.
This morning I bought myself some sensible walking boots and a little rucksack and set off for the Lake District. I walked for about 5 miles then I sat on a stone, opened my rucksack and poured a cup of coffee. Then I walked about another 5 miles, sat down again and had a Mars Bar. After that I walked towards a beautiful lake, admiring the scenery…… Sorry, I’m Rambling.
YOUNG MUSICIAN COMPETITION 2011/12 On 15th October this year in St Mary’s Church Clitheroe, the Rotary Clubs of Clitheroe and Ribblesdale will host the first leg of this National Competition for pupils in our area. Eligibility for this competition is restricted to young people aged between 11 and 17 on 31st August 2011, who are educated or live within the Ribble Valley, and who are either instrumentalists
or
vocalists. Full details of this event are available on the RIBI website (Rotary in Britain and Ireland) at
http://www.ribi.org/ follow the link to Young Rotary then to Competitions and to Young Musicians. There you will find the rules for the event. To ensure a minimum standard of performance it is suggested that pupils be of Grade 6 level if possible, but this does not disqualify entrants who have achieved a similar level of performance without qualification. Local schools and colleges have already started nominating talented young students and if you have children who may be eligible and would like to enter the competition, they should contact their music teacher on their return to school, or alternatively contact one of the below named for an informal discussion.
