HYWEL & JAMIE HIT HARWOOD HARD

Tuesday 9th August 2011 Rock FM descends on Great Harwood in the form of Hywel and Jamie’s Roadshow and their caravan of love, seen here in Great Harwood Town Centre. The Dynamic duo spent Tuesday in the Town Hall Square as part of their tour including Oswaldtwistle Mills on Wednesday, Moor Park in Preston on Thursday, and The North Pier in Blackpool on Friday. The Crazy Couple entertained the people of Great Harwood signing autographs and welcoming visitors to the caravan. Hywel had a lot of trouble pronouncing the name Harwood for some reason so we were looking forward to his efforts pronouncing Oswaldtwistle the day after. They did a great job promoting the town as they went walkabouts visiting local shops and businesses. Jamie was particularly impressed with the new sweet shop (The Sweetie Den) in the town centre giving it a nice plug on the radio. The lads then came to the Local Herald offices in the Town Hall Buildings and are pictured below with some of our staff, Simon, Debi, and Gary. Hewel was asking us about the latest big story to hit the Herald but the main message that came across was that Gary was going on holiday. Egypt in fact. The two boys later featured our little magazine in their evening quiz giving the Local Herald quite a bit of publicity, and we were very surprised at the number of phone calls we received from friends, readers and advertisers saying they had heard us mentioned on Rock FM Radio. Thanks lads.

If you see any looting, please give us a ring.
