news 7 Priority services take off
Business leaders from across Hampshire attended Southampton Airport’s unveiling of its new Breeze Priority services, ideal for the time-conscious business traveller.
The new services are optional upgrades available to all passengers to pre-book online at
www.southamptonairport.com/priority and aim to make their airport experience even easier and faster. The services were trialled by guests from Business Southampton, the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce, Hampshire Fare and Amity World Business Travel.
They include parking, security and an executive lounge. Passengers can opt to upgrade their airport parking by pre-booking a space in the new Breeze Priority Parking area. The wider parking bays are on the ground floor of the short stay car park, close to the terminal as possible. By pre-booking, passengers can gain access to the car park automatically, park in the most convenient spaces available and arrive for check-in from as little as 60 seconds later. The service costs from £28.70 per day, £5 more than the standard car parking prices (for non pre- booked parking).
As part of the above, passengers receive access for up to two people to the Breeze Priority Security service. A special pass allows passengers to proceed to the security search
Business leaders from across Hampshire celebrate the launch of new priority services at Southampton Airport
area through a dedicated entrance to complete security screening more swiftly.
The Breeze Priority Executive Lounge costs £17.50 per person and includes priority security access, comfortable seating, laptop and mobile phone charge points, complimentary WiFi, flight information screens, and quality locally produced refreshments. There is also a new meeting room facility in the terminal, the Spitfire Meeting Room, which can hold around 20 people and includes the latest technology. World Duty Free has also been modernised.
Dick Oram, president of the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce, commented: “I’m a long-term Southampton Airport user, and I think the easy and fast nature of this airport is fantastic. I’m very impressed with the new priority services which are ideal for business passengers.“
With the Airport halfway between London and Weymouth – key 2012 Olympic sites – and 40% of its passengers business users, plus a growing cruise market/inbound tourism, the Airport is keen to build on its existing product and add a new dimension.
Dave Lees, Airport managing director, concluded: “The new services are available to all passengers as an optional upgrade. They will be of particular interest to business passengers where time is of the essence and where a quiet space to work can really make a difference.“
