Fine wine is at the heart of The Vineyard at Stockcross. This five-star country hotel boasts an award-winning wine list of more than 2,500 labels and some 23,000 bottles in its extensive cellars.
From its “Seven Days of Wine“ – a different wine experience every day of the week – to its gourmet wine dinners and wine masterclasses, lovers of the grape will find themselves in seventh heaven.
Of course, fine wines require fine dining and award- winning executive head chef Daniel Galmiche has excelled with a menu which has its roots in modern, classic French cuisine and influences from both the Mediterranean and the Far East.
With a focus on locally-sourced ingredients, including as much wild produce as possible, the chefs create dishes which are bursting with freshness and flavour. Dining options include a sensational seasonal menu, while the seven course tasting menu provides a journey through exquisite and mouthwatering flavours complemented by perfectly matched wines.
Selecting the correct wine to accompany your meal is incredibly important and the restaurant’s sommeliers are always on hand with personal recommendations. Their skills ensure a perfect harmony between food and wine and complete the ultimate gastronomic experience.
And this summer, the restaurant’s head sommelier, Yohann Jousselin achieved the highest accolade when he was awarded UK Sommelier of the Year, in a prestigious competition organised by the Academy of Food and Wine Service.
Situated just minutes from junction 13 of the M4, The Vineyard at Stockcross has a range of fine wine events and activities taking place this autumn including the wine experience weekend on October 28 and 29 where over 150 wines will be available to taste.
