Fine dining with a master chef STOKE PARK


Stoke Park has a rightly-deserved reputation as one of Europe’s leading hotel, spa and country club resorts and now its gastronomic achievements have earned major plaudits too.


In 2010, its fine dining restaurant, The Dining Room, achieved two AA Rosettes for culinary excellence, a prestigious award presented to those chefs who “demonstrate innovation, technical skill and consistency to a high level“. In 2011, The Dining Room is going from strength to strength. On opening to the public in January 2011, Chris Wheeler and his team have been receiving outstanding plaudits from both the press and public, with the Daily Express stating: “The Dining Room is faultless, the food is superb“ and Hello! Magazine recently invited Wheeler to feature his recipes in an upcoming issue.


The Dining Room offers an à la carte lunch and TDH menu and a three- course dinner menu, featuring dishes such as Dorset crab, king prawns and avocado tian with cucumber, soft boiled quails egg and pink grapefruit segments, cannon of new season lamb topped with a girolle mushroom mousse with Windsor Ale slow-braised osso buco, rosemary and garlic roast root vegetables and the Stoke Park ’ Snickers’ ( milk chocolate and peanut mousse, salted chocolate caramel, caramel foam and peanut tuile).


Wheeler, who worked alongside Jean-Christophe Novelli as his group head chef before joining Stoke Park, serves up a three-course TDH lunch for £29 and TDH dinner for £52, with a lunch time a la carte option also available.

For less formal dining, The Orangery has a more relaxed atmosphere, serving breakfast, classic dishes and the finest afternoon teas, which can be enjoyed inside with breathtaking views across the historic grounds or outside on the lawn in the summer.


Save some space though for the delicious afternoon teas, which come with a champagne option and only £40 for two.


Those looking for something lighter can choose San Marco, the Italian Brassiere situated in the Pavilion, which offers authentic Italian cuisine, light lunches and freshly squeezed juices and smoothies. In the summer alfresco dining is available on the decking, shaded by large parasols.


Private dining can also be arranged in one of Stoke Park’s function rooms, including The Fountain Room, which is perfect for medium to large banqueting and dining, The Ballroom, The Repton, The Buckingham or The Park Room, all of which are available to suit groups of varying sizes.
