YOUNGSTERS from Town Malling Cricket Club have secured a three-year sponsorship deal. Not only will chartered surveyors Caxtons be supplying support at matches by cheering on the young cricketers, but they have also provided new cricket whites for the Under 11A, Under 11B and Under 13 teams. them all the very best of luck this season.” Juniors coachMartyn Senior said: “Without the continued support of local firms we would find it difficult to provide kit for the youngsters, so we are extremely grateful to Caxtons.” The West Malling-based club started a junior section three years ago with 15 children and now has around 100 youngsters.

takes to centre SNODLAND Children’s Centre is steadily establishing its place in the local community since opening at Snodland Clinic in Rocfort Road last September. That is the view of Ofsted in- spector Carole Skinner, who gave the Sure Start children’s centre, which was previously run from a number of tempo- rary sites, a ‘satisfactory’ rating. She wrote: “Parents and car-

ers value its friendly and wel- coming atmosphere and the opportunities it provides for them to engage in activities with their children.” However, she noted the cur-

rent accommodation hampered staff efforts. She added: “For example, there is no outside area where children can play and there are limitations on the range of activities that can be offered in the clinic room for health, safety and organisa- tional reasons. “Nevertheless, the centre manager has a strong vision for developing services and is proactive in securing the use of additional venues.” The centrewas lauded for en- suring the safety of children on location and at activity venues. Ms Skinner felt staff could be more rigorous in assessments and called for more opportuni- ties for adult users.
