The Equiery’s 10th T e Horse

Caitlyn Wilson, 16, Smithsburg

His eyes are incandescent pools of knowledge, Scintillant when ignited, Brilliant enough to capture you, And consume you In the rarity of perfection. You yearn To enter that fountain of deliverance, And revel in its intrepidity.

He off ers you A wisp of fi nesse. And Sedation sets in on seconds, Unshaken and unforeseen, T ings incessant cease to prevail, T eir timeless ticking deluged by white beauty.

Muscles saturated with prowess, And Silence is the key, Lifting, Bunching Smooth ripples pulsating vitality And Integrity festers and broods, Twines its miniscule vines, spawning, Scouring for you and feeding its inclination To be one.

And so You Fly.

Time is Shattered. Slices splintered. Shimmering into a universe beyond you. And you, no longer trammeled By the hindrance so terrifi cally tethered to mankind. You have found your sanctuary And seated so precariously You dare not to break T e sliver of perfection in which you fl y.
