Exotic and striking plants by Tesselaar

The new2011 release fromTesselaar International is the striking TROPICANNA BLACK canna.

“Even the name makes you want you to start planning, thinking of the exotic and how this new plant will bring excitement into your garden,” said founder and MD Anthony Tesselaar of the new TROPICANNA BLACK canna (var.Lon01). It is the new release for this year and can be viewed at Plantarium in August on stand 269. Its combination of colours is truly striking; contrasting the magnificent shades of its large broad purple and black leaves are the rich scarlet flowers that are sprinkled with

orange gold dust and have a touch of yellow toward the centre. They join the original TROPICANNA canna (var. Phasion) and the brilliant bright striped gold-green foliage, TROPICANNA GOLD (var. MACtro). Not only do they provide stunning foliage on each of these varieties, but also the flowers themselves conjure up bright tropical sunshine and happiness. This invites the shopper to be daring and plant a group in the garden, regardless of their horticultural expertise. They will end up with a fantastic result – a living leafy sculptural vision that will really make you stop and declare, “That looks fabulous!” These beautiful plants can reach to 120cm high and 50cm wide. With a suggested RRP of 5.99, TROPICANNA BLACK can be found at garden centres across the UK, including DIY stores such as B&Q. Prices naturally vary depending on container size and retail outlet. www.tropicannacanna.com
