STRIKINGMAKEOVER The entrance to Plantariumhas returned to the main entrance of the building. During the countdown to late August, the square in front of themain entrancewill be given a striking makeover, while the building itselfwill also undergo ametamorphosis. The layout of the trade fair is also set to change. The group layout (basicmaterial, impulsemarket, etc.) has been abandoned, but visitorswill still be able to find their favourite participants quickly. The personal preferences of the participant are nowthe decisive factor. Plantariumremains transparent thanks to its straightforward layout. This new layoutmakes it possible to anticipate the need for shorter stands, with a principle of short yet wide, whichmakes it possible to create a beautiful presentation at acceptable costs. This type of stand is offered as a complete package. The entrance hall has been fully included in
the trade fair. Here, visitorswill be immediately met by a spectacular novelties presentation. One trend is the increase of group participationwith producers fromcertain regions looking to present themselves jointly, while preserving their individuality. Venlo and Opheusden are good examples of that, and there are also combinations of growers and suppliers. Another trend is that former visitors of Plantarium, such as large commercial establishments, will now present themselves as participants in their own business units or large stands. Trade fair co- ordinator, Jos van Lint expects further growth in the future for this segment.
THE 'ART' THEME The 'Art' theme is given shape at the 'PlantariumMontmartre'. Visual artists such as photographers, painters and possibly also sculptors will express their vision on plants in the widest sense of the word at a special

exhibition. The plants that have been nominated for the Colour your Life Award initiated by Plant Publicity Holland (PPH) thanks to their X-factor, will be treated by a number of aces in the field of flower and plant design and turned into truemasterpieces. These masterpieces will feature prominently at 'Plantarium Montmartre'. In order to further promote the X-factor of the plants, which forman important part of the international Colour your Life campaign of PPH, this series of newmasters will bemade available to a number of garden centres.
