Outback promises great plans!

The heat's on for barbecue buyers at Outback UK, where the brand-leading company is set to unveil two new 'hot properties' for 2012, as well as a 'tasteful' innovative promotional campaign aimed at both trade and consumer sectors of the market. While Outback intends to keep its products and plans under wraps until the first day of the Solex Exhibition, chief executive Mark Osborne said he was confident the company could build on this year's success to date. "Sales have been buoyant to put it mildly, with trade demands reflecting a belief among consumers that a barbecue is not only enjoyable, but an economic way to help keep household costs down - and entertain at the same time. "Our production partners TPA have world-class product design and engineering facilities at their Shenzhen headquarters in China, and have been very supportive of our future plans since their Outback takeover in April", he said. Senior executives from TPA, led by chief executive Victor Lin, said they were

"very pleased" after seeing a marketing presentation of Outback plans for 2012 at the company's Coventry-based administration headquarters - a facility shared with new distribution partners Unipart Leisure and Marine. Outback sales were given an early seasonal boost after the national Mail on Sunday gave its only five star rating to the Meteor gas barbecue, while the charcoal-fired Omega 200 achieved four stars in the newspaper's independent survey. "We were delighted to make the pages of the Mail on Sunday, and when the President of the United States helps the British Prime Minister serve a barbecue in the garden at Number 10, then the industry must be doing something right", enthused Mark Osborne. Weber takes to the road

For the first time Weber is taking its barbecuing expertise on the road and educating the nation about how to barbecue the Weber way. Travelling the length and breadth of the UK and Republic of Ireland, the Weber Experience BBQ Roadshow will be visiting garden centres and food festivals throughout the spring and summer. Weber’s experience chef Dan Cooper will be at the helm of the specially designed, state of the art Airstream Land-Yacht trailer, holding barbecuing demonstrations and showing the audience how to perfect Weber’s ‘roast’, ‘grill’ and ‘bake’ techniques, as well as providing recipe cards so dishes can easily be re-created at home. John Cooper, managing director of Weber said, “On the Roadshow there’ll be the chance to learn how to barbecue a more exciting and varied menu which will impress all your friends and family.” The Roadshow set-up will be on show at the Solex exhibition as well as the latest gas and charcoal Weber barbecues, along with the striking new colourful cookware accessories.
