Thousands of plant varieties! The second HTA National Plant Show on June 28-29 offers the perfect opportunity to view a 100 per cent plant-focused event.
Thousands of plant varieties fromover 100 UK plant suppliers will be shown under one roof, fromseeds to trees and everything in between.

claimed to have placed orderswithin amonth of the show. Newsuppliers for the 2012 seasonwill be there whichmakes this an ideal opportunity to discover newideas for plants to stock. 68 per cent of visitors in 2010 also said they found newplants to stock as a result of the show. The inaugural National Plant Showin 2010 provided examples of future rangeswith existing suppliers. 70 per cent of visitors in 2010 said a main reason for visitingwas to update themselveswith existing suppliers and to plan for the 2012 season. June is the time to view plants at their best and is the perfect time to start planning for the following seasonwhilst this year is fresh in yourmind.
MARKETPLACE The plantmarketplace gives you the chance tomake instant purchases as well as doing your strategic planning at the show. Youwill find shelf after shelf of sample stock from numerous growers exhibiting at the showin theMarketplace area. You can order any combination of stock and itwill all be delivered theweek after the showin one load. This is
achievedwith a single delivery note and one invoice, saving you the hassle of having to open accounts andwork through reams of delivery notes and invoices. All stock in the marketplacewill be sold in shelf quantities and detailswill be displayed for each product line.
LOVEMY CONIFER CAMPAIGN LAUNCH This year’s show will launch the HTA British Conifer Group’s Love me, Love my Conifer campaign, highlighting why different conifers are chosen, perhaps for their unusual shape, texture or name. The campaign will consist of PR, striking Point of Sale items, showing customers holding their chosen conifer, with strong, catchy statements as to why it stood out to them, and tips on how retailers can make the most of National ConiferWeek.
INTERNATIONAL BREEDERS AREA A significant development at this year’s HTA National Plant Showis the addition of a new‘International Breeders Showcase’ area. International breeders and agents have been invited to take part in the showin a specially created area to premier their newvarieties. Plants launched at the HTA National Plant Showwill bemaking their debut at a UK trade or public event andwill bemade available to UK growers for finished plant production. This
exciting development follows feedback fromseveral international breeders agents at IPMEssenwho learnt of the success of the 2010 event and are keen to find away to get involved.
REGIONAL GROWERS AREA If you are looking for supplierswho only supply to specific regions of the UK, thenwhy not visit the ‘Regional Suppliers Area’ at the HTA National Plant Show. Stands in this areawill have a sign on the front stating which area of the country they supplymaking it easy for you to identifywhich exhibitors you need to talk to if you are looking for a more ‘local’ supplier.
NATIONAL PLANT SHOW SEMINARS Two plant-focused seminars will run at 10amand 3pmon each day of
the show. Seminar speakers confirmed to date include internationally renowned plants man Roy Lancaster, who will enlighten attendees regarding some of our best-selling plants to help you inspire your customers (June 28) and new plant development expert Garry Greuber, who will highlight new plants coming on streamand ways to extend the planting seasons (June 29).
NEWPLANT AWARDS/VISITOR VOTE The NewPlant Area, home of the entries andwinners of the New Plant Awards and the Visitor Vote, will be at the heart of the show. With nearly 60 entries in 2010 this proved to be an inspirational area to visit to see the newplants and varieties on offer fromthe best UK plant suppliers exhibiting at the show. The NewPlant Awards, sponsored by ProVar, have five categories: • Hardy Nursery Stock • Herbaceous Perennials • Climbers • Annuals • Breeder Innovation (newfor 2011)
