News in Brief Claire Walker and her family Turn online shopping
into donations With five of her family members diagnosed with cancer, Claire Walker is determined to raise as much money for Breast Cancer Campaign as possible. Read how she raises money for free everyday with ‘Give as you Live’, and how you can do the same every time you shop online. Claire thought things couldn’t get much
worse, with her mother-in-law suffering from secondary breast cancer and her husband living with an aggressive form of colon cancer. So when her sister was also diagnosed with breast cancer and both her father and father- in-law were told they had prostate cancer, Claire’s world was turned upside down. Working full-time and having three young
children, Claire’s time quickly became more precious and finding time to fundraise or donate to charity became much more difficult. But the devastating reality of what was happening around her brought to light the increasing need to support those charities trying to find a cure. Supporting Campaign through ‘Give as you Live’ made this possible.

‘The team at Travis Perkins is delighted to continue fundraising for Breast Cancer Campaign’
And to ensure the customers don’t miss out on the action, Travis Perkins is building on the success of 2010’s pink buckets, pencils and tape measures, with the launch of a fabulous pink wheelbarrow. Ian Church, Managing Director of Travis
Perkins Midlands and Chairman of the Travis Perkins Charity Committee, said: “The team at Travis Perkins is delighted to continue fundraising for Breast Cancer Campaign and Children’s Hospices UK for a third year. We have definitely raised the bar and hope to make the next couple of years equally as successful, and even more fun!”
‘Discovering Give as you Live has meant that I can support charities like Campaign regularly’
Claire says: “I have always donated money to charity, but at times like these your instinct to give more money becomes stronger than ever. You become determined to do everything you can to help find a cure, and to stop this disease from destroying more lives. Unfortunately, it is also times like these that you don’t have as much time as you’d like to commit to raising money. “Discovering Give as you Live has meant
that I can support charities like Campaign regularly without changing my routine, or spending any extra money. It has fitted into my life.
“The treatment that my family members are
receiving is 100 per cent down to the phenomenal research funded by charities such as Breast Cancer Campaign. It’s so important to me to be able to make a contribution, no matter what’s happening around me.”
