Supporters urged to join Team Pink
B
reast Cancer Campaign’s Paint the Town Pink initiative is returning to towns across the UK this autumn and
the charity is calling on enthusiastic volunteers to join Team Pink to help make the event a success. This September, Campaign will transform the Isle of Wight into the Isle of Pink for the fourth year running. In addition, Reading and York will also return to pink in October to help raise vital funds for breast cancer research.
‘This year we want the event to be bigger and better than ever, but can’t do it without you help’
Last year, thanks to help from our army of Team Pink volunteers, Paint the Town Pink raised over £100,000. This year we want the event to be bigger and better than ever, but can’t do it without you help. There are many ways to get involved, from distributing posters and leaflets to collecting donations at your local supermarket, and we will support you all the way. There are many tasks to choose from, so you can find something that fits in with your time or skill set. Taking part is also a great way to meet people and add some extra colour to your town!

Team Pink at Bestival Make a direct difference
Regular giving is one of the best ways to support the work of Campaign. More and more supporters are choosing to
donate this way, setting up a direct debit so that gifts are made each month. It is quick and secure, and above all means
that there is regular funding available for vital breast cancer research. Campaign supporter Victoria Elston has been donating since 2009. She said: “I set up a regular gift of £5
Dressed for fundraising success
Get together with your friends, colleagues or pupils on Friday 28 October (or anytime in October for schools) and join the thousands of people across the UK who will be wearing pink to support Campaign. It’s so easy to take part in wear it pink – just donate £2 and wear an item of pink (or go head
to toe in pink if you fancy!) to help us beat breast cancer. We want to make sure this year’s wear it pink day funds more research than ever before, so dig
out your pinkest tie or tutu, get your friends to join in and help us raise as much as possible! On Friday 28 October it doesn’t matter what you wear – as long as you wear it pink!

online really easily. I arranged the direct debit so that a donation is made as soon as I’m paid each month, which means I don’t even notice the little bit less money missing from my account! Although I have no personal experience of breast cancer, it affects so many women each year so I’m glad I can support them in some way.”
